Be You To The Full!

At some point in our lives we’ve all been reminded of the importance of being who God made us to be. However, I don’t think we often think about the consequences of trying to be anyone other than our true selves. Tonight The Lord led me to read Philippians chapter 2 verses 14-16 which says,

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “Children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”  ‘Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the Word Of Life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.’”(Philippians 2:14-16)

After reading this verse God showed me that His Children intentionally choosing to be all He has created then to be, matters a BIG DEAL to Him! When we try to be anyone else but who God has created us to be, we open ourselves up to temptation, deception, sin, and we cannot be used as a light for The Lord. This was the mistake that resulted in lucifer falling from Heaven. He wanted to be someone that He was never created to be and his spirit of pride ended up stopping him from living out the purpose he was created for. This week whenever you find yourself trying to conform whether to fit in, be noticed, or even praised, choose to declare the Word of God over yourself, and remind your heart of the absolute treasure you’ve been created to be!
